Join Freely!

Freely is a corporate venture within the Cover-More / Zurich Group. We’re deeply independent yet interdependent on the broader GroupWe’re travel, design and tech obsessed - a diverse, deeply passionate, ambitious and talented team.

We exist to make travel a powerful force for positive change and real connection - We help travellers meaningfully experience the world, and purposefully contribute to it. We launched our MVP with an innovative product built on a singular premise: A new world of travel needs a new kind of travel insurance…

However, we’re not stopping there – having just launched in the USA, we’ve got ambitious growth plans for 2024 and beyond

This is an opportunity for an Agile Business Analyst to come and join the Freely team to build a sustainable business that positively transforms the way travelers experience and contribute to people, places and the planet.

A bit about you:

  •  Solid experience as an Agile Business Analyst within a business working on digital and/or web product development.
  • Demonstrable experience performing at a high level in an agile development team.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in a number of agile methodologies and the role of the Business Analysis in each methodology (e.g. Scrum, Scrum/XP, FDD, BDD, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong stakeholder identification and management skills.
  • Extensive experience in developing quality user stories or other types of agile requirements, and managing them on a Kanban wall or similar.
  • Ability to articulate and gain engagement for ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

A bit about the Job:

  • Consult with the business and Product Managers to prioritise and shape the product backlog, using Agile practices for prioritisation around business value.
  • Develop business requirements and target stage definition with Product Manager and key stakeholders to inform business customer journey design and solution design.
  • Maintain oversight and traceability of requirements through to implementation, including developing business context, diagrams, process maps, entity relationship diagrams, requirements documentation, key reference materials and artefacts for effective business analysis outcomes.
  • Developing and managing quality user stories or other types of agile requirements, through a variety of agile techniques. Plus, assist with the development of acceptance criteria (ideally in BDD format).
  • When required, facilitate key agile ceremonies (sprint demo/showcase, sprint retrospective, sprint/iteration planning, backlog grooming).
  • Manage a variety of relationships including business stakeholders, Product Manager, Engineers and other broader team members.

A bit about our values:

How we behave:

  • We’re human: We listen, we empathise with each other, we’re inclusive and collaborative. We debate, sometimes rigorously, yet always with deep respect, humility, and always to the benefit of our travellers.
  • We’re courageous: We are resilient optimists… creating change is not easy. We act deliberately, with conviction and do the right thing. We back our purpose, mission and values. We quickly and opening admit when we’re wrong.
  • We’re explorers: Exploration is a mindset... We’re remarkably comfortable in the unknown and constantly seek to better understand the world, others and ourselves. We’re always discovering, always evolving and always pushing boundaries.
  • We’re innovative: We pursue the right data and the best solutions with rigour and open-mindedness, always guided by our travellers needs. We combine methods and tools in new ways to drive surprisingly effective outcomes. And we do more with less....
  • We’re responsible: We take ownership and focus on impact, and we acknowledge when we fall shortWe feel a deep sense of responsibility, toward our fellow Freelies, our partners, other peoples and the planet.

What we create:

  • Value: understanding and delivering value in all that we choose to do is what makes us successful. We continually strive to increase the value we are creating for our travellers and the business.
  • Quality: We are very deliberate about what we do, and where we go above and beyond.  Our creations are born from function, yet always embody elegance and keen attention to detail. We always choose progress over perfection. We use the best tools for the job and are empowered to constantly learn and share our expertise with others.
  • Simplification: Simple is hard... Simple, effective and elegant is even harder, yet that’s what we strive for in all that we do. We take on the complexity, so our audience doesn’t have to. We are free from jargon, deliver clarity and ease of use.
  • Positive change: We strive to be better versions of ourselves, and to personally and collectively change things for the better. We believe that work should be meaningful, and our culture should empower and enable positive change – both from within and across the world.
  • Community: We’re always fair. We create, nurture, deeply respect and fight for our community. We are the conduit for others in the travel community to contribute their value to people, places and the planet.

We respect who you are and thoroughly embrace diversity, so whatever walk of life you wander, you do you and come as you are.
